Can Vica in Cala D'or

A great family villa with lots of space, near the sea at Cala D'Or. Can Vica is a whitewashed house - reminiscent of Ibizan or Greek island architecture, with a round tower and an open staircase. It's in a great place on a wide residential street just one row back from the waterfront.

The whole house has been recently redesigned and furnished with light and bright rooms with white walls, cool tiled floors and shuttered windows. There's a long l-shaped lounge and dining room with French doors leading out onto a shady covered terrace by the pool. The kitchen is a well-planned room overlooking the garden. There's lots of storage space and appliances including a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer.

There are five bedrooms at the house with three on the ground floor - a double room and two twins with views of the garden. There's a family bathroom nearby with a bath and a shower, as well as a toilet cloakroom. Two more bedrooms are in the round tower on the first floor - a lovely double room and a twin, both with en-suite shower bathrooms. These tower rooms are reached by a white stucco staircase from the garden with gorgeous views down to the sea.

There's lots of great outside space at the house - with a new swimming pool, a shady beamed terrace running around two sides of the house, a large barbecue-oven and cooking area, two sections of lawn, trees, shrubs and a gated driveway. There is also a heated hot tub for 2010.

Can Vica is a great house in a terrific place - just 300m from the beach at Cala Esmeralda, and a ten-minute walk from the heart of Cala D'Or. It's particularly well designed for two families on holiday together - with bedrooms on each floor there's lots of private space for everyone. And as well as the lovely resort of Cala D'Or itself and its marina, there are seven pretty beaches within a mile of the town, and traditional village life is just a short drive away inland.
