Casa Pueblo Alicanti in Pollensa

The main door is on one of the pretty and quiet narrow streets of the old town. The entrance hall leads to a study, and a dining area with a lovely oak table. The large kitchen has another table and chairs and appliances including a dishwasher, a large oven and hob, a microwave and an American-style fridge-freezer. The work surfaces are made from Mallorcan stone. Double doors open out onto the lower outside terrace and pool, which has a covered area with a barbecue and a table and bench seating.

The pool has large roman steps and a jacuzzi feature. The pool can also be heated at an additional cost. There's a furnished sun-terrace, with a mural painting of the mountain of Cavall Bernat - the impressive rock formation which, according to local folklore, casts a horse-shaped shadow onto the sea - in the neighbouring coastal town of Cala St Vicente. Cala St Vicente also has lovely sandy beaches and is just a five-minute drive from the house.

Also on this ground level of the house there's a lounge with two sofas and satellite television and a dvd player and cd stereo. There's also a cloakroom here. On the first floor are the house's three bedrooms and two further bathrooms. Two twin bedrooms, with views over the roofs of the old town houses share a full bathroom - beautifully decorated with Mallorcan country-style tiling. One of these bedrooms opens up onto a large balcony that catches the late afternoon sun, and overlooks the pool area. There's also a double bedroom here with a lovely en-suite shower bathroom filled with natural light.

Casa Pueblo Alicanti is a beautifully designed modern village house. It's only a five-minute walk from Pollença's main square, Plaça Major, with all its restaurants, cafés and shops. And because the house and the pool can be heated in winter it's perfect for a holiday at any time of year.
