Finca Les Estemenyes in Pollensa

This is a beautiful nineteenth-century farmhouse just outside Pollença, renovated with great style. It's in a fantastic location on a wooded hillside in mature gardens with wide, open views across the Pollença countryside and a gated driveway. It's easy to forget that the house is just a short drive, or an easy bike-ride, from the historic old town of Pollença itself - with all its cafés and shops, restaurants and galleries.

Inside, the house is really comfortable and welcoming - it's clearly a house that's been lived in and loved for generations. It's been restored and decorated in a combination of traditional Mallorcan farmhouse-style and classic modern furniture: with neutral colours, tiled floors, white walls, beamed ceilings, and exposed stonework. On the ground floor there's a spacious living and dining room with comfortable leather sofas, a wood-burning open fire, satellite tv, and a stereo and dvd. The kitchen is very well-designed and built with lots of storage space, another dining table and chairs, and appliances including a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer. French doors open out from the kitchen to the upper garden-terrace.

Also on the ground floor there's a double bedroom with an antique wardrobe, and a bathroom with a half-bath and a shower. The remaining two bedrooms are on the first floor - a double and a twin room, both with lovely garden views. They share a bathroom with a bath and a shower.

The gardens are exceptionally beautiful - with landscaped areas full of plants and different levels of terracing. There are tall trees, fruit bushes and palms, as well as Mediterranean and tropical plants. The lower pool-level has great views out over the countryside, right down to the sea at Puerto Pollença, and back up to the lovely stone farmhouse itself. The pool is long and rectangular and has a sun-terrace along one side and tall hedges along the other. The pool area can also be closed off with a gate from the rest of the gardens, to keep small children safe.

Finca les Estemenyes is a gorgeous house full of history and warmth. It's in a beautiful setting with some of the loveliest private gardens in the area - they're the perfect place for spending long days swimming and relaxing. The house is also incredibly private, through wrought-iron gates down a long and winding drive. It's also very close to Pollença - just a 2-minute drive - and the sea at Puerto Pollença which is 5-minute drive, and Pollença's golf course is also just 5 minutes away by car.
